Windows
If you are using a Windows computer, generally an upgrade of
the OS purges all connection information out of the system. Which means you
have to connect the printer again. In any case, during the initial setup, you
can use the following steps to connect or Add printer. Regain access to the HP
Printer Assistant or simply download the tool from the HP website.
Within the tool, go to Printer Setup & Software and
click on Connect a new printer. Thereafter at the prompt choose Connection Type
-> follow instructions for 123.hp.com/setup. Click on Retry if you see a
red-colored X mark and continue. Restart both your devices (computer and printer).
Next, if the HP Printer Assistant does not come open, then you may have to
uninstall some of the existing software
Uninstallation
Remove any old software and drivers installed on the
printer. For this, you must first disconnect any USB cable connected to the
123.hp.com/setup printing device.
Then open Control Panel -> Programs and Features ->
choose the name of your HP printer -> Uninstall / Yes. Software removal
instructions will be displayed on the screen for users to follow. After this
process, switch off the computer and put it on again
Installation of the latest driver
Use the CD ROM that accompanies the printer for this
purpose. Alternatively, reach out to the manufacturer’s website to download the
relevant drivers. Ensure that the USB cable is disconnected from the printer
after which, you will be prompted for the 123.hp.com/setup for software. On
HP’s website click on Printer from under the Let’s identify your product to get
started window.
Click on Submit and for changing the operating system choose
Change -> version number -> Change. Then go to Driver-> Download (complete
software package) / Basic Drivers for additional features. When you restart the
devices, the HP Printer Assistant will open. You can also try installing using
the Built–in Driver for Windows
Adding or Installing wireless,
Bluetooth scanner
If your 123.hp.com/setup printer scanner is already on the
network, then the Windows 10 computer will identify it. Sometimes, you just
need the right permissions after your Bluetooth-enabled printer is already on
the network
Click on the Windows button -> Settings -> Devices
-> Printers & Scanners -> Add a printer or scanner -> Add device.
Perform the above as the computer tries to look for all of your devices on the
network
At times, only the printer name is visualized if it is a
multi-function or an All-in-One printer. You will see the scanner under the
Printers & Scanners option from where choose the installed printer ->
Manage-> choose the scanner. Follow instructions to add it manually if you
do not see the printer on the list. For this, click on The printer that I want
isn’t listed for additional commands
